About how to weld Stainless Steel Braided Sleeve

December 21, 2022

Stainless Steel braided sleeve has very high requirements for welding technology; if the welding technology is immature, it may cause problems such as perforation, water leakage, and rust of the braided mesh pipe.

Stainless Steel Hose Protection Pipe

Many people don't know how the Stainless Steel Braided Sleeve is welded. Let our engineers explain it to you today.
Stainless steel Braided Sleeve welding technology is divided into TIG welding (non-melting polar gas tungsten shielded welding) and MIG welding (melting polar gas shielded welding), and the difference between the two lies in the materials used in the welding process, MIG Other than using wire, TIG uses tungsten electrodes in the torch, and other than that, there isn't much difference between the two.
TIG welding: TIG welding has better air tightness and can reduce pressure vessel welding. Welding is the pores of the weld. The heat source is DC arc, the working voltage is 10-95 volts, and the current can reach 600 amps. It is mostly used on medium-thickness workpieces.
MIG welding: an arc welding method that uses additional gas as the arc medium and protects metal droplets and high-temperature metals in the welding zone.
The first step: the size of the pipe opening is necessary to measure the length of the pipe when welding, and then use the pipe cutter to cut the pipe size.
Step 2: Cleaning the pipe Since the pipe is metal, some waste residue will be generated by oxidation in the pipe, and some waste residue will affect the welding effect. Therefore, before we use welding, we should use abrasive cloth or paper to grind away the waste residue in the pipe.
Step Three: Clean the Fittings with a Tube Brush Cleaning the fittings will allow the welded hose to ensure a clean and tinned joint.
Step 4: Master the welding time. Generally speaking, the length of the welding pipe you need requires the corresponding length of solder.
Step 5: Use the torch heat pipe The main purpose of the torch heat pipe is to ensure that the welded part of the pipe is evenly heated. It is worth noting that when using a torch, make sure the flame is close enough to cover the entire diameter of the pipe.
The temperature of the inner pipe should not be too high when welding. If it is too high, the material will change and be prone to rust. The outer pipe should be cooled during welding. If the temperature is too high, it will affect the inner pipe. Therefore, good ventilation measures are very important.
In addition to the welding technology, the two welding methods also need to use a mixed gas as the medium, the composition is 90% argon + 20% carbon dioxide. It can be seen that the welding of Stainless Steel Braided Sleeve depends on technology and care.
