The reason is that when chromium is used to treat the steel for solid solution strengthening, the type of surface oxide is changed to a surface oxide similar to that produced on pure chromium metal. This closely adhered chromium-rich oxide protects the surface and prevents further oxidation. This oxide layer is thin, through which the natural gloss of the surface of the PET Self Wrap Braided Sleeve can be seen, giving the PET Self Wrap Braided Sleeve a surface. Moreover, if the surface is damaged, the exposed steel surface will react with the air to repair itself, and regenerate this passivation film to continue to play a protective role.
